Getting married in Milwaukee’s winter requires extra planning due to the weather; however, winter weddings have their appeal and advantages, including venues that are available for a lower price during the colder months. Accommodations for the guests are more straightforward to arrange when it’s off-session. Also, makeup would not be affected by sweat and hot weather.
Janelle and Mark got married on January 5th. During the planning process, we had two locations in mind for pictures, the first being an indoor location (the Hilton Garden Inn, where they’re staying for the night).
The second location was Lake Park because we wanted some outdoor pictures regardless of how cold the weather would be. Fortunately, the temperature was in the 50s.
Outdoor winter sessions must be shorter and require some extra preparation. My number one concern is making sure that the couples are warm and comfortable and that they’re enjoying the experience.
The Dirty Boots and Messy Hairstyle inspired Janelle and Mark, and they requested that their pictures be edited using their filters.
The couple envisioned a romantic, organic, simple wedding with a touch of a BoHo style. The local cozy coffee shop downtown (the Milwaukee Anodyne Coffee Roasting Company) was the perfect venue to complement Janelle & Mark’s vision for the day.
The log tables were decorated with red candles, berries, pine branches, and pine cones.
